Footwear xqa Mary Rose Shoes Leather WSC175
This Mary Rose shoe is documented to the shipwreck of the Mary Rose. She was the flagship of King Henry the VIII but she was sunk by the French in the Solent in 1549. She was raised in 1982 (and you can see her at the Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth, England).

This shoe was worn by a typical sailor and is one of the few examples of preserved shoes that is not of an elite class. The slits were to let the water out, and they are made of a sturdy construction with a thick sole cobbled with nails to ensure long lasting quality.

This style of shoe can actually still be found in fashion today.

You can see a video of our Mary Rose Shoes.

FOR THESE SPECIAL SHOES - to support the Mary Rose Museum, we will donate $5 to the museum for ALL Mary Rose shoes purchased. We strongly feel that this is a heritage worth preserving.

Visit the Mary Rose Museum and see for yourself!

These shoes run large. Men order 1 size smaller than your usual size. Women order shoes 3 sizes smaller than your normal size. For example, if you wear a womans 8, order a mens 5. The instep is tight but will loosen up with wear.
