Easter Story

The biblical story of Easter involves the death and reserection of Jesus.

We offer several costumes that would be appropriate in Easter Plays, around 30 B.C.

Jesus

A muslin undertunic with a keyhole neck.

Mary

The mother of Jesus wears a simple muslin underdress with a keyhole neck and long sleeves. Over this is worn a blue or brown Overdress and a (traditional) blue veil. This outfit is common to females of this period. For plays a large outfit will fit many people; there was no particular fitting for biblical costumes.

Our Pontius Pilate costumes consists of a white, short sleeved Roman Tunic with period Key trim and a Toga.

Barabbas and other Thieves

Our robber costumes are simple short-sleeved muslin Tunics. This might have been worn by the robber Barabbas and the theives thought to have been crusified with Jesus.
