Chemise or light dress (underdress) A beautiful late Medieval costume worn under many garments, including
overtunics,
sleeveless overtunics,
skirts, and bodices. Part of a fine Renaissance costume, the chemise was worn by queens and peasants.
It can also be worn as romantic sleepwear.
The chemise is made to approximatly ankle length.
You can customize your chemise and order it as half length (shirt length), and/or with short sleeves for a Renaissance blouse! Add a pair of Bloomers for a cute pair of pajamas or 1890s Steampunk Bathing Costume!
The neck is gathered with a drawstring so you can adjust the neckline, high or low.
The sleeves are gathered with elastic but you can custom order drawstring wrists. You can also order the chemise with no elastic for an open sleeve.
Perfect garb for an SCA or LARP event.
Add a Renaissance skirt
and a short vest with a
belt for a swashbuckling look!
This is a later period chemise which is very full--we also offer an early period underdress
which is more form fitting.
