Surplice (Choir Robe)
|
Surplice
The surplice can be traced back to an ordinace of Edward the Confessor (1042-1066) but may even go as far back as the fifth century.
The surplice is still commonly worn today, in choirs (as a choir robe or vestment) and graduation ceremonies, and other rituals.
