The custom that men wear pants is recent and somewhat limited to Western society.
Eyptian men worn skirts. So did Celts (kilt man skirt),Anglo-Saxons wore long robes,
the early Norman men wore long robes, and almost every other culture had men in skirts.
In fact, it was men wearing dresses who went off to the crusades.
