About Garb the World

Garb the World's Mission is to provide reasonably-priced custom-made costumes and accessories in a reasonable and reliable amount of time.

Garb The World began as a way of providing a livelihood for mothers of small children to work at home. As business expanded we have included students and retirees as sewers, while maintaining our high standards. We have been reenactors for a while, and understand that our costumes need to be more like regular clothing, and strong and durable enough to be worn and washed frequently.

We focus on clothes that are:

Machine-washable. Most items (except wool) can be washed in a washing machine and dried in a dryer.
Sturdy. We double and triple sew important seams.
Made from natural or natural-feeling materials.
Inexpensive. We are able to offer inexpensive clothing because we get fabulous prices at the Los Angeles garment district and pass those savings along to you.

Along with sewing the costumes listed on our website, we can sew just about anything. So, send us a link or picture of the item you are interested in having us work on and we'll give you a quote within days. We should have your order within a few weeks. However, some custom orders could take longer depending on their complexity.
