The Visigoths were
the western Goths (the Ostrogoths being the other) were the Germanic peoples who
sacked Rome. They first appeared in history around 268 The Visgoths were important in western European affairs for about 3 centures
after they sacked Rome. that settled in the lands now called Spain and southern France
They were Ariansim Christian that believed that Jesus was not an aspect of God in the Trinity, but a separate being created directly beneath God. The Iberian Visigoths adhered to Arianism until 589, when
King Reccared converted his people to Catholicism.
The Goths were not treated well by the Romans.
